Barons falter at Goochland

   The Bluestone Barons baseball team fell 7-1 at Goochland on Thursday.
   Peyton Chavis was the starting pitcher for Bluestone. He pitched four innings and allowed three runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Jordan Hill pitched two innings and allowed four runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
   Larry Bullock, Nathan Newcomb, Chris Gregory, Jordan Hill, and Peyton Chavis each had one hit apiece for the Barons.
   Goochland took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Bluestone answered with a run in the top of the fourth. Nathan Newcomb reached on an error and scored on a Brendan King sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 3-1. Goochland extended its lead with two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
   Bluestone’s record is now 2-4
   The Barons are back in action April 9 at home against Buckingham.
