Lady Barons drop a pair

   The Bluestone Lady Barons softball team took a pair of losses this week.
   Wednesday, March 27, the Lady Barons lost 9-0 against Nottoway at home.
   Katlyn Shanklin pitched four and a half innings and had four strikeouts. Devin Gregory pitched two and a half innings with two strikeouts.
   Devin Gregory and Hannah Mull were the only two players to put the ball in play everytime up at bat.
   Thursday, March 28, Bluestone played Goochland High School at Goochland and lost 11-4.
   The Lady Barons had a close game, losing 5-4 until the bottom of the fourth inning, when Goochland scored five runs fueled by errors by the Barons.
   Shanklin pitched an inning and a half then switched to third base, and Gregory finished out the game pitching with two walks and eight strikeouts.
   Emma Newcomb led the Lady Barons offense with two hits and two RBIs.
   Bluestone hopes to bounce back in its next game hosting Kenston Forest on April 8 in a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
