Bluestone’s Hardy commits to Livingstone

Bluestone High School senior Alex Hardy on Thursday signed a letter-of-intent to play college football at Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.
Hardy, an 18-year-old from Chase City, said his father initially sparked his interest in football at a young age, teaching him the game in the backyard. A lineman, Hardy started playing organized football at the age of 6 in a flag football league.

Hardy wants to study business law at Livingstone as he continues to play football there and after college. He hopes to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers someday.
In addition to football, Hardy participated in wrestling during his senior year, capturing the regional championship in the heavyweight division and advancing to the VHSL Division 2 state championship meet.
Hardy said he wants to thank everyone who played a part in his success.
“It’s too many to name,” he said.
